The South African government has reported a housing backlog of 2.5 million houses – a problem which disproportionally affects underprivileged members of the population. BELISA (Better Living South Africa) has developed solutions and products that address this problem. They are currently working on four different projects across South Africa. Every South African citizen is able to apply for land and home ownership, and upon government acceptance, their new home is completely funded by the government.

BELISA owns exclusive licensing rights to a newly developed binder called “Corit.” This German-patented technology is a substitute for cement, and allows more versatility in usage. It also exceeds specifications and standards for a product of its type. Moreover, Corit is ensuring a cleaner production, manufacturing and construction process by using environmentally and energy efficient materials.
