Establishing a Common Foundation of Values

UNDERSTANDING OF
DEMOCRACY.

ANCHORING DEMOCRACY.

For Democracy, Diversity, and Prevention against Radicalization and Racism

Participation in daily life and engagement in community life with locals are crucial to strengthen an understanding of democracy. aoty relies on its numerous partners to support projects that reinforce these values.

Become part of our network to strengthen the understanding of democracy.

Our goal is to connect migrant associations and organizations in the Rhein-Main area and Frankfurt. This creates a broad alliance in the fight against extremism and for democracy.

In training sessions, workshops, and event series, we address topics such as democracy, the constitution, democratic participation opportunities, equality, lived norms and values, and discrimination with participants. Additionally, we prepare campaigns against racism and provide support in their implementation.

An essential part of this program is the training of democracy ambassadors.

Collaborative Events:

To develop our training concepts, we invite representatives from migrant associations and organizations. Together, we work on the focal topics for the training of democracy ambassadors. After successful participation, all attendees receive an official certificate.

Train and Connect Democracy Ambassadors

Successfully trained democracy ambassadors are employed to convey democratic values in their neighborhoods—through organizing their events, for example. Members of associations then participate in these events.

Furthermore, democracy ambassadors use their existing contacts in their neighborhoods to inspire additional initiatives and associations to join the project. This creates a growing dynamic, reaching more and more associations and organizations, motivating them to participate.

Great Potential

Currently, there are an estimated 1,000 migrant associations in the Rhein-Main area, with 380 of them located in Frankfurt alone. The potential to reach people is enormous. They can contribute to strengthening our democratic values, passing them on in their cultural circles, and preventing antidemocratic developments and radicalization.
