aoty® secured funding for the purchase of 160 fuel cell vehicles for lease through the “ Brunsbüttel Wind to Gas” project of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure Project Management.
As an energy source, hydrogen can make a significant contribution towards a sustainable, decarbonised energy and mobility system in Germany through targeted production, storage and logistics. Particularly in the field of mobility, hydrogen presents a promising solution to combat high motor vehicle exhaust emissions in Germany and beyond.
For the metropolitan region of Hamburg, this opens up new opportunities for the implementation of a sustainable hydrogen economy. The plan is to launch a pilot project in which public filling stations supply local public transport buses with hydrogen fuel. The supply will be secured via an existing wind-hydrogen-electrolysis plant located in Brunsbüttel. The aim is to demonstrate the practicality of green mobility via fuel cell vehicles.
